The closest commercial airport to Sheraton® Anchorage Hotel & Spa is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) away.

Round-trip airport transfers are included only for the following airport(s), dates and times:

  • Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) to the hotel on May 16, timing based on flight details provided.*
  • The glacier cruise port to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) on May 22, arriving at the airport at approximately 8 p.m.**

To arrange your airport transfers, please submit flight details HERE by April 6.

Please note that airfare is not included in the trip price.

*We recommend that you plan to arrive at the airport prior to 5 p.m. so that you don’t miss the welcome dinner/reception.

**Please book your departure flight for after 8 p.m. Alternatively, you may choose to book a hotel stay in Anchorage for the night (at your own expense) and make your own transfer arrangements the following day (at your own expense).

Itinerary

Day 1 (Anchorage)

Welcome to Alaska, an adventurous land of wildlife, mountains, forests, glaciers and wide-open spaces. Upon arrival at Anchorage International Airport, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Later, you’ll join your Travel Director and fellow DreamTrippers for a welcome dinner at MUSE, located in the Anchorage Museum, a venue dedicated to studying and exploring the land, people, art and history of Alaska.
Overnight at Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa.
Meals included: Dinner with wine*.

Day 2 (Anchorage to Talkeetna)

Get acquainted with Anchorage through an included city tour. Enjoy an exclusive agutak making demonstration by local Indigenous people during a visit to the renowned Alaska Native Heritage Center. Learn how this ice cream treat (and culinary tradition) establishes a link to the past, inspires a sense of pride and spurs a dialogue about an ancient people’s remarkable ability to survive. In the afternoon, depart from Anchorage for a journey through the fertile Matanuska Valley. You’ll stop at a local farm to see how long summer days and glacial silt create a perfect environment for growing vegetables and flowers. From there, you’re off to the quaint community of Talkeetna, nestled at the base of Mount Denali, North America's tallest peak. The evening is at your leisure, so ask your Travel Director for suggestions on where to go for a bite to eat.

Day 3 (Talkeetna)

Enjoy a scenic jet boat tour up the Chulitna River in the morning and visit a trapper cabin. You’ll learn about the lifestyle of hunting and trapping in Alaska’s rugged interior. The rest of the day is yours to explore more of Talkeetna or perhaps join an optional experience.

Day 4 (Talkeetna to Denali)

After a relaxed morning at your leisure, board the world-famous Alaska Railroad train for a spectacular journey over swift rushing streams, towards Denali National Park and Preserve. View the majestic surroundings from the comfort of your glass-domed rail car, before meeting a local climber who will entertain you with stories about what it's like to brave the climb up the tallest land-based mountain in the world. For this evening’s dinner with wine, the choice is yours between a local brewery or your lodge’s restaurant.

Day 5 (Denali to Girdwood)

With the Denali National Park and Preserve just a short drive away from your lodge, you'll find many ways to enjoy the Alaskan wilderness on your own. Or, you can partake in one of our optional activities. From an exciting rafting trip down the Nenana River to a helicopter flightseeing tour or a Denali Wilderness walking tour, the choice is yours — just don't forget your camera. You’ll end the day back at your lodge and enjoy panoramic views of your surroundings at night.

Day 6 (Girdwood)

Enjoy a scenic journey on the George Parks Highway. After lunch, meet the champion dog team of four-time Iditarod winner, Martin Buser — you'll learn about the challenges of competing in the 1,049-mile (1,688-kilometer) dogsled race and enjoy lunch at his home. Journey on the Seward Highway along Turnagain Arm with its dramatic views, before arriving in the town of Girdwood, home of the Alyeska Resort and ski area. In the evening, join your Travel Director and fellow DreamTrippers for a wonderful celebration dinner, complete with wine and good cheer. You'll spend the night at the luxurious Hotel Alyeska, which is nestled in a lush valley surrounded by mountain peaks, hanging glaciers and spectacular ocean views.

Day 7 (Girdwood to Anchorage)

After a relaxing start to your morning, travel to Whittier to board the 26 Glacier Cruise for a 100-mile (161-kilometer) boat tour of Prince William Sound, where you’ll encounter glaciers up close! Return to Anchorage and transfer to the airport (approximate airport arrival time is 8 p.m.).
Meals included: Breakfast; lunch.

Cancellation Policy*: Once booked, this trip is non-refundable and non-transferable to another trip.

*This cancellation policy is subject to rules and regulations in applicable jurisdictions in which our travel supplier is based.

Name Change Policies: Name changes are not permitted for the DreamTrips Member(s) who booked this trip and are only allowed for people who are traveling with said booking member. Name changes must be done no later than January 31 and are subject to a fee of up to US$50. Name changes after this date are not allowed.

Transfer Policies: Booking transfers from one member to another member are not allowed on this trip.
